Ravensdown Sulphur Store No. 2 Extension – Detailed Design

Falcon completed the detailed electrical design for the staged extension of Sulphur Store No. 2 at Ravensdown’s Awatoto site. The design encompassed hazardous area-rated systems for a Zone 22 environment, motor control centre (MCC) modifications, instrumentation, PLC hardware integration, conveyor control systems, and emergency lighting. In addition to full electrical design and procurement planning, Falcon provided a detailed lighting risk assessment report and developed the functional description of the system to support future automation. Our team also contributed electrical inputs to a fully developed 3D model ahead of the project being issued for tender, ensuring spatial coordination and constructability. The scope included documentation such as SLDs, cable schedules, and a hazardous area dossier—supporting compliance, safety, and staged commissioning across this complex industrial upgrade.
